  • New Year Goal Setting: Realistic Habits to Fit Your Everyday Life

Our mission at Organica has always been simple: to make healthy living easier, more affordable, and more accessible for every Jamaican.

As a new year begins, many people feel pressure to make big changes all at once. But wellness doesn’t have to be overwhelming to be effective. Health goals work best when they are small, specific, and built into real-life routines you can return to day after day.

Rather than aiming for perfection, January is a good time to focus on habits that feel achievable and supportive, both for you and your family.

Below are a few practical ways to set realistic and sustainable wellness goals.

    Simple, Realistic Wellness Goals

    1. Move a little more, more often
Instead of committing to long or intense workouts, aim for short periods of movement that fit your schedule.

TRY: Adding 10–15 minutes of movement to your routine three to five days per week.

Walking, stretching, dancing, or light exercise all count; consistency matters more than intensity.

    2. Add something nourishing to your meals
Rather than focusing on restriction, make an incremental change by adding one healthy swap to your daily routine.

    TRY:

    • Swapping juices and drinks for water with at least one meal each day
    • Swapping white rice for a whole grain like quinoa once a week

Small additions like these support nourishment without feeling limiting.

    3. Support better sleep habits
Sleep plays a major role in overall wellness, energy, and mood.

    TRY:

    • Aiming for a regular bedtime during weekdays.
    • Supporting restful sleep by turning off screens 30 minutes before bed.

Even small adjustments can help your body rest and reset.

    4. Create consistency with daily medication or supplements
If you take medication or supplements, consistency is key.

    TRY:

    • Taking supplements at the same time each day
    • Set a reminder on your phone.

Simple systems help make healthy habits easier to maintain.

    Wellness That Fits Real Life

Wellness isn’t about doing everything at once; it’s about choosing habits that support your everyday life and your long-term health.

By focusing on small, realistic goals, you create routines that feel manageable and sustainable, not stressful or restrictive.

At Organica, we’re here to support your wellness journey with nourishing food, thoughtful swaps, and guidance that meets you where you are, one simple habit at a time.

  • News | Nourishing the Nation

Organica was created with a clear purpose: to make wholesome, natural ingredients more accessible and to build a community where knowledge, wellness, and support are shared freely. Over the years, that community has grown into something truly meaningful, a family built around wellness and genuine connection.

Weeks ago, Hurricane Melissa hit and damaged many communities in the west. At the same time, we were completing our journey to open our Montego Bay location. While the storm affected many of our new neighbours, friends, contractors and family, it also reminded us of the strength, resilience and unity that define our community. Instead of pausing our mission, we chose to expand it.

With all services fully operational in Kingston and our Montego Bay store now open, we’re using our strengthened network to support recovery tangibly and compassionately.

Our new Montego Bay location at Southern Cross Business Circle in Freeport is officially open. As part of our commitment to making whole foods and healthy ingredients more accessible islandwide, Organica will be supporting feeding programmes operating across the affected parishes.

These contributions focus on nutritious, dietary-specific foods, items that support real wellness and meet the needs of families with unique health or lifestyle requirements. Options include vegan, vegetarian, no-dairy, gluten-free and other essentials that can be difficult to access during crises.

Wellness has always been about more than what we sell. It’s reflected in how we care for one another, especially when times are hard. This is why we are ensuring that the support provided is both relevant and focused on wellness.

We are grateful to partner with ambassadors like Kamila McDonald, whose dedication to wellness and community outreach will help us reach more families and strengthen the impact across the affected areas.

To our dedicated customers, we remain committed to serving you, supporting you, and nourishing your community, today and in the days ahead.

    How You Can Support

While Organica is managing all food donations directly, members of our community who wish to offer additional help can:

    • Support or volunteer with feeding programmes in the affected areas
    • Share verified information about recovery initiatives
    • Join Kamila and other ambassadors in amplifying wellness-focused support

Every thoughtful action contributes to the path of recovery.

  • Nourish with Purpose: Smart Tips for Hurricane Relief Donations

    Nourish with Purpose:
Smart Tips for Hurricane Relief Donations

Our mission has always been simple: to make healthy living easier, more affordable, and more accessible for every Jamaican.

While many families recovering from the storm are focused on the essentials, safety, stability, and something warm or familiar to eat, there are also people whose specific nutritional needs remain difficult to meet right now. Those who rely on vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free, or other dietary-specific foods often struggle to access them during crises.

This is why Organica is supporting feeding programmes in the affected parishes. We are donating items that support specific dietary needs, options that are often overlooked during times of crisis but remain vital for families who rely on them every day.

As we continue our efforts, many in our community have asked how they can support various relief drives and community kitchens in their own way. With that in mind, we’re sharing a few simple guidelines to help ensure that any contribution, big or small, offers real nourishment and comfort during recovery.

    Smart Tips for Donating

    1. Choose shelf-stable proteins

Canned beans, nut butters, tuna and sardines provide reliable, long-lasting protein, essential for energy and resilience. These items are practical, widely used and easy to incorporate into simple meals.

    2. Include whole grains where possible

Brown rice, oats and whole grain cereals help families stay fuller for longer and provide steady energy. They are versatile staples that support balanced meals, especially when resources are limited.

    3. Add fruits and vegetables in accessible forms
Canned or packaged options in water or natural juice supply vital vitamins and minerals. These items travel well, last longer and offer families an easy way to include more variety in meals.

    4. Consider hydration helpers
Coconut water, shelf-stable milk alternatives and electrolyte drinks can support hydration when access to clean water, refrigeration or regular routines is disrupted.

    5. Select items that are simple to prepare
Easy-open packaging, instant porridges, soups and ready-to-eat meals help families enjoy a meal quickly, even with limited space, equipment or time. Convenience is essential during early recovery.

    Wellness Beyond the Table

Nourishment is not only about food. Small comforts, herbal teas, familiar flavours, personal care essentials and feminine hygiene products help restore routine, dignity and emotional wellness during difficult days.

    Together, We Nourish the Nation

Organica remains committed to supporting wellness across Jamaica, particularly now. Our contributions to feeding programmes focus on providing dietary-specific foods, vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free, and other options that can be more difficult to access during crises.

We are grateful to partner with ambassadors like Kamila McDonald, who share our commitment to reaching families with care, compassion, and purpose.

Thank you for supporting one another. When even one family is nourished, our entire nation grows stronger.
